Abstract
Two complementary research projects are currently underway in the Czech Republic, the aim of which is to map the long-term development of habitats and biodiversity in military areas from 2009 to the present, but above all to put this development in context with conservation approaches, test their effectiveness, and draw clear recommendations for conservation practice from the results.
