Abstract

In the second part of the monograph on the late Oligocene flora of Fossillagerstatte Rott we treat the taxa of the basal angiosperms (ANA grade) and magnoliids (sensu APG IV). The basal angiosperms are represented by two orders, the Nymphaeales with Cabombaceae (2 taxa) and Nymphaeaceae (8 taxa) and the Austrobaileyales with Schisandraceae (1 taxon).

The magnoliids are represented by the orders Magnoliales with the families Magnoliaceae (4 taxa) and Laurales with Lauraceae (11 taxa). Cuticles are only preserved in the following taxa: Magnolia attenuata, Magnolia liblarensis, Laurophyllum medimontanum (abaxial cuticle), Laurophyllum meuselii (abaxial cuticle), Laurophyllum pseudoprinceps, cf.

Laurophyllum sp. (adaxial cuticle), Daphnogene cinnamomifolia. The following taxa have received nomenclatural treatment: new name: Laurus elliptica Winterscheid syn. nov. et nom. nov. pro Laurus obovata C.O.Weber; emendation: Magnolia attenuata C.O.Weber emend.
