Abstract
The postface analyzes the philosophical methodology underlying Hodec's novel Alex. Hodec uses the means available to the novel to allow life itself to unfold and in this way to speak for itself in its immediate fullness, and he shows that a reference to the genesis of meaning in which one's life is entangled can only arise where the will to attain a final state or an identical is abandoned.
Only when the phantasm of fixation disappears does the possibility of genealogy open up: namely, to pay attention to becoming in its temporal modes of having become and of becoming to be kept open.
