Abstract
It is the most comprehensive, most complex and up-to-date encyclopedia of Czechoslovak and Czech Olympic sports. The encyclopedia includes a brief cross-section of the history of the Czech Olympic movement, an overview of the individual Olympic Games, and an index that contains all Czech and Czechoslovak participants in the Olympic competitions.
In many respects, the encyclopedia updates or often clarifies erroneous traditional information and summarizes the existing knowledge about Czechoslovak, resp. Czech sport and the Olympic movement.
