Abstract

Unlike lesbian women and lesbian mothers, gay men and gay fathers are still at the margins of scholarly attention to homoparentality. However, because of the need to look for alternative ways to become parents, which cannot materialize without technological interventions or relationship compromises, their parental desires and reproductive strategies provide us with an invaluable insight into the concept of "creative" family.

This chapter analyzes the experiences and imaginations of Czech gay men, who (re)examine and reframe established notions of family life and in doing so contributes to the scholarly and societal discussions about the possibilities of reproductive technologies and family constellations, and especially the relationship between them, in the 21st century.
