Abstract

The book is focused on the collegial sharing of professional experience between teachers as one of the tools of teacher professional development. The benefits of collegial sharing are evident both in the area of reflection, self-reflection, pedagogical and didactic practices used, and in the area of communication and cooperation within the teaching staff.

The book presents a comprehensive view of the principles of peer sharing, what are its benefits, but also what obstacles can hinder effective implementation in school. More detailed attention is paid to five procedures: supervision, intervision, Balint groups, Wanda and mentoring.

These are described both in terms of the ideal course and in terms of the specific experience of the schools that use them. The book concludes with a series of stories in which various actors of collegial sharing (teachers, school leaders and leaders of collegial sharing groups) show practical use in the reality of contemporary Czech schools.
