Methodology of experimental determination of atmospheric aerosol emission power for selected sources

Publication

Abstract

The proposed methodology aims at determination of aerosol emission/deposition flows from large-surface sources. The methodology applies advanced model of aerosol concentration gradient to a 3dimensional structure of aerosol particle number/mass concentrations and number size distribution, temperature, pressure, relative humidity and CO2 determined in well-mixed convective boundary layer above the selected sources.

As a novelty, the 3dimensional structure was determined by an unmanned, remotely controlled airships carrying advanced aerosol spectrometers and monitors for CO2 and meteo parameters. Under the condition of turbulence-well-mixed convective boundary layer, the methodology is applicable to determine the aerosol flows for agriculture field, large coal strip mine and small human settlement.
