The paper is based on the concept of medieval state as a dynastic conglomerate and poses question of cohesion and shared identity within this composite state, namely the Kingdom of Bohemia and its Crown. It uses the model of regional/national identity conceived by Jean-Marie Moeglin.
It deals with the terminology used by the 14the century chroniclers (esp. the Zbraslav Chronicle) and Charles IV in order to describe relationship between the "core" kingdom of Bohemia and the so called "lands adjoining the Bohemian Crown".
