Abstract
The chapters discuss three concepts of virtues - Courage, Temperance and Justice presented in the works of medieval francophone authors Guillaume de Machaut and Jean Froissart. An example of Courage is provided by Peter of Lusignan in Machaut's Prise d'Alexandre; Temperance is discussed on the example of Wenceslas, duke of Luxembourg, in the battle of Baesweiler in Froissart's Le Prison Amoureuse; Justice is exerted by John of Bohemia in Machaut's Jugement dou roy de Behaigne.
