Abstract

The text first presents a reflection on the meaning, role and function of the temple. Two of the three studies are scientific articles.

The first reflects the second temple in Jerusalem based on rabbinic tradition (especially the Talmud). The second study works with archaeological research and compares the biblical report with the findings on the importance of the temple in the surrounding religious environment.

The third contribution is affected - a set of homilies on the theme of the temple, respectively. interpretations of biblical texts dealing with the temple in Jerusalem in the context of the place of worship of the Hussite Church.
