Abstract
The book was created with the aim to analyze the phenomenon of subcultural and musical fanzines in the Czech and Slovak environment. This phenomenon has been minimally explored in our country.
Fanzines arises despite modern state institutions and market mechanisms. They are out of the attention of official archives and libraries.
Fanzines are offering "bottom up" reflection, that is usually not contained in traditional historical sources. Thus, fanzines offer a very personal, alternative point of view, that is often very indifferent to the official state or hegemonic cultural discourse.
