Interrogating Cultural Change - Punctuated Equilibria Models in Near Eastern Archaeology and Egyptology

Abstract

The aim of these sessions is to reconsider the nature of punctuated change as reflected through research that focuses on archaeological, historical, and environmental data. The most recent research on complex societies in the ancient Near East and Egypt indicates that critically important changes took place in a leap-like manner.
