A review examining the meaning and reception of Hermetic lyric poetry with a World War II theme as part of German-language literature in German-speaking countries. Jana Hrdličková's monograph provides a definition of the term, a chronological overview of Shoah-themed poetry, and an interpretation of selected poems.
A special feature of the monograph is the arrangement of these poems into oppositional pairs. Jana Hrdličková's interpretation is then directed towards an imaginary dialogue of poems and authors (associating a hermetic circle).
