Abstract
This article does not deal with the question of whether extraterrestrial civilizations exist or whether they have visited our planet but focuses on the artistic knowledge that has arisen in a number of segments of popular culture regarding the supposed visits made to Earth by extraterrestrial beings. The material or artistic representation of UFO culture is analyzed both in "official or high art" and in popular culture.
Popular literature, outsider art, naive paintings, remythologized paintings from earlier ages, films and pop music connected to UFO culture are introduced and analyzed in comparative frames.
