Abstract
The essay takes the example of the prominent figure of T. G.
Masaryk to present the potential for research into communication networks. T.
G. Masaryk appears all the more suitable for this type of research because in his life he used and initiated the interlinking of areas with different cultures and languages.
The essay is based on the completed editions of Masaryk's correspondence with his Russian partners as well as on the edition of documents with his German-speaking partners, now in preparation.
