Case report of a patient with advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor

Publication |

Abstract

The case report of a patient who has been treated for a metastatic well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor for over 14 years is a prime example of quality palliative care with somatostatin analogs. Thanks to this treatment, long-term partial remission of the disease has been induced and the patient lives without any restrictions or significant difficulties that would result from the progression of the disease or the toxicity of the treatment.

After many years of remission, the risk of late progression is relatively small and, in addition, we currently have other high-quality treatment options for this case, especially treatment with targeted receptor radionuclides (peptide receptor radionuclide therapy, PRRT).
