Abstract

Coarctation of the aorta is a significant congenital heart defect with a risk of developing symptomatology at any age. Its early diagnosis is crucial for good prognosis and progression of disease.

In this case report, we present a six-month-old infant who, for two weeks, showed signs of somnolence with progressive swelling of the soft tissue located primarily on the lower limbs. Despite these obvious signs of heart failure, the cause was not detected early and the patient eventually died while still at home.
