The edition makes accessible 35 letters of Polish historian Wacław Sobieski (1872-1935) to his Prague colleague Jaroslav Bidlo (1868-1937). The letters cover a period more than three decades - both historians made acquaintance already during the studying of Jaroslav Bidlo in Cracow in the nineties of 19th century.
The letters deal with the organization of faculties of arts of Jagiellonian University in Cracow and Czech Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague before the WWI, guest profesorship of Sobieski in Prague in 1930 or the official cooperation of Polish and Czechoslovak historians in the interwar decades. The value of the letters is augmented by the fact, that personal papers of Sobieski have not preserved.
