Tax havens have been around since the 19th century, but they are still a topical issue. We find them mostly in Central America, the Pacific Ocean, and, surprisingly, in Europe.
Tax havens in the economic peripheries of the world drain tax revenues from the core countries and prosper economically thanks to this drain. Contrary, the tax havens in the core deepen existing global inequalities.
In addition, the involvement of these countries undermines efforts to change this practice.
