Abstract
The article "The Mixed Forest" presents the thought legacy of Ludvík Armbruster, a Czech philosopher, Jesuit and theologian, with special reference to Armbruster's correlation of Japanese and Czech, or European society and culture in general. It also describes the historical context of the Jesuits' entry into the Japanese environment (the Baroque period, the period after World War II).
