This work is devoted to exploring a Pseudo-Athanasian Homily on Various Ways of Salvation and on Repentance in a Medieval Slavonic reading miscellanea with a fixed type of composition known as }}Izmaragd(( (in both of its ancient recensions that were shaped in the XIVth century) and in the so-called }}Khludov Sbornik(( (GIM, Khludov Miscellanea, № 30d) that appeared before }}Izmaragd((. We have identified a Greek text that served as a source for the homily.
The former is known in the manuscripts beginning from the tenth century but has slipped from the attention of the Byzantine scholars and was not included in PG and CPG. The comparison of the Slavonic and Greek versions is presented in the series of tables and accompanied with textual comments.
The research has allowed to determine which Greek text formed the basis of the Slavonic versions and show to what extent they preserve the original as well as how they compare to each other. Some observations are made in regard to }}Izmaragd(( and }}Khludov Sbornik(( concerning the questions of their origin and development.
A stemma is offered to illustrate the history of the text, and the homily itself is made available in the Appendix.
