Data concerning physics teachers or a survey finding the data were requested from the Ministry of Education since the conference in 2015. In the beginning of 2019 such survey (a broader one, covering teachers of all subjects) was done.
First preliminary results (concerning physics teachers) are presented in this paper. They concern numbers of teachers, their age distribution, qualification, expected numbers of teachers leaving their schools and how difficult is for schools to find new physics teachers.
The results give "hard data" for evidence of shortage of physics teachers. Some ideas how we can try to improve this unfavourable situation are presented in the conclusion.
