In particular, music education can offer effective means of mitigating the side effects of coronavirus loneliness, insecurity or stress, and encourage pupils to acquire self-regulatory skills to reduce stress levels, manage trauma, and improve their quality of life.
The aim of the workshop is to present model music-educational situations with meaningful music activities that are characterized by diversity, multilevel, experiences, adressing emotions, relaxation or communication and cooperation and creativity. The aim is to show the usefulness of applying a diverse range of activities in music education, from which students can get inspired to find ways to better understand music as a distinctive means of communication and a means that can help improve their understanding of music and potencially their lives.
The workshop includes following activities: Silent rhythms - music in silence - listening to silence, awakening of voice, gentle vocal activities, rhythmic activities with hands, body parts, Silent music - movement music accompaniment - elementary movement realization of the heard, imitation, overflow of movement dominance, focused listening, Impressions - elementary vocal improvisation in a given tonal space based on ideas of Czech music pedagogue Jaroslav Herden, Entry into the impressionist work - voices and reverberations, a joint reflection of what has been experienced. The offered activities can be applied for work with students, inspired by them for use in music lessons for younger children, or for meaningful creative use in various music leisure activities.
The starting point of the activities is one's own breath, voice, bodily movements, as well as listening to silence, sounds, and later the richness of music.
