Abstract
Section 1661 of the Czech Civil Code is one of the most overlooked provisions of the Code concerning inheritance law. This provision has not yet received the attention, either in practice or in the literature, that I believe it deserves.
Therefore, this paper has been written in an attempt to provide a comprehensive interpretation of the issues related to the aforesaid provision. It does so on the background of the conclusions of discussions in Austria, where a similar legal regulation was worked with until 2017.
