The Attitude to Victims Says much about the Community: Reactions to Sexual Abuse in Czech Religious Context

Abstract

In this article, I summarise how religious people and communities most commonly react to cases of sexual abuse in religious contexts in the Czech Republic. These reactions vary widely, in relation to whether the individual or community focuses primarily on themselves or on the suffering other, and range from denial of any problem to acknowledgement and responsible engagement.
