This paper focuses on the complex relations between the phenomenon of Islamophobia and the attitudes women have towards Islam and women's rights. Through analysis of the public discourses of the most visible and publicly present women, it presents how women in both the Islamophobia and counter-Islamophobia camps relate to Islam, women's rights, and feminism in the Czech Republic.

This piece touches upon the backlash women on both sides receive for their public activism. Through analysis of personal blogs, websites, and social and online media articles, this paper shows that the discourse in the Islamophobia camp is framed both as "feminism is for Czech women only" and "no feminism"; while in the opposing camp, it is framed as mostly humanitarian and all-inclusive discourse.

The paper strives to contribute to an analysis of one aspect of Czech Islamophobia.
