The contribution presents one the possible solution to the problem related to science and reading literacy. The perception and comprehension of coherent text by students is a general problem at any level of the educational system and in any subject.
The results of PISA 2015 also show a link between reading and science literacy, i.e., that low reading literacy causes a decline in science literacy. For the development of reading literacy, one of the currently used ways is the inclusion of comics, which help to convey and transform text appropriately for a generation that prefers visual stimuli, usually in quick succession (videos).
In this contribution, we focus on answer the question of whether comics are a valuable tool for science education based on the results of a systematic review of research studies.
