This paper describes two studies dealing with environmental awareness and the possibilities of influencing it. In the first case, it is qualitative research carried out within the diploma thesis, which dealt with the comparison of environmental awareness of pupils from traditional and alternative schools, and which has already yielded certain results.
The second case involves ongoing quantitative research, which aims at a more detailed analysis of pupils' awareness of environmental issues, a thorough mapping of factors that may affect pupils' environmental awareness and the extent to which behavior in certain environmental areas is influenced through environmental awareness of those areas.
