This presentation provided a general historical overview of the Kierkegaard reception in the Czech lands, ranging from the early 1900's to the recent years. First, the Austro-Hungarian period was covered along with its book censorship but also some of the first translations of Kierkegaard's books into Czech from German.
Second, the Communist era was discussed with attention paid to the underground scene of Czech intelligentsia. Last, the contemporary reception of Kierkegaard was talked about, specifically from the fall of the Iron Curtain up until recent years.
