Judita Matyášová's dissertation deals not only with intergenerational relations between the oldest and youngest generations in the Czech Republic, but also with the senior community in Denmark. Since 2010, she has been travelling regularly to Denmark, where she has become interested in a completely different perspective on the elderly.
In the Czech Republic, the prevailing image is of a passive elderly person who is dependent on the help of those around them. In Denmark, on the other hand, the senior is presented as the most active member of society, who is involved in public affairs.
The lecturer will present concrete examples from the Danish senior community that can inspire the Czech Republic.
