This paper deals with the perceptions of leading Czech physicists about a desirable physics curriculum for upper secondary schools. The methodology is based on the objectivist grounded theory, in-depth interviews with 29 physicists, and a questionnaire.
Four core categories have been identified - students, physics, context, and maths. Ideas of other natural scientists, experts in physics education, and physics teachers are being sought in follow-up research.
The research will result in, a new physics textbook.
