Publication

Abstract

The paper covers one of the periods of Czechoslovak-Russian/Czechoslovak-Soviet relations at the beginning of the 20th century. In the first part it tries to shed light on the reasons that led the Czechoslovak government to establish and develop The Russian Aid Campaign in 1921, which eventually led to the emergence and formation of a very diverse Russian emigrant community on Czechoslovak territory.

The author will then attempt to introduce the audience to the memorable sites in interwar Prague that were of great importance in the life of the Russian emigration, including the reasons for the creation of these sites and their role in the community. This will include local memorials of educational institutions, cultural and social organizations, and some sites associated with academia and religious life.

Finally, the author will attempt to shed light on the reasons for the preservation and disappearance of memory sites associated with Russian emigration in Prague's public space.
