Abstract

In the post-war period, the field of filmmaking went throught a so-called cleansing, when the filmmakers themselves decided who would be able to continue working in the nationalized film industry. The filmmakers were unionized under the auspices of the Union of Czech Film Workers.

A Disciplinary Board operated within its framework from as early as June 1945, 178 cases handed over to the Disciplinary Board's various commissions of inquiry. Of the 178 cases, the Disciplinary Board decided to out 66 workers of the industry.
