EXTREME RESPONSE STYLE OF CZECH STUDENTS: SELECTED FINDINGS FROM PISA 2012

Abstract

In this paper, we analyze the extreme response style of Czech students in the PISA 2012 Questionnaire, together with their diligence in answering. Czech students avoid extreme answers, which places them among the most moderate respondents in the world, while the low percentage of missing and invalid answers points to their relative thoroughness.

The examination of response styles is crucial to avoid drawing incorrect conclusions based on misleading data.
