Abstract

The Old Czech translations of the Bible (1360-1500) comprise four redactions that contain different types of arrangements for solving translations from the Latin original. For example, the first translators applied the functional translations of lat. "dominus" (hospodin - 'God' or 'Jesus Christ', pán - 'lord'), which was in the 2nd and 3rd redactions replaced by the unified translation pán.

The translators of the 4th redaction returned to the more archaic and functional style, demonstrated by the reappearance of the oldest translation hospodin and other lexemes ("signum", "synagoga").
