Legal regulation of illegal work in Slovakia and its relation to the employment of foreigners from third countries

Abstract

In the Czech Republic, the labour inspection authorities detect many times more cases of illegally employed foreigners from third countries than Czech citizens every year. Is this due to the legal setting of the employment and residence of foreigners? An analysis of the legislation and data from our closest neighbour, the Slovak Republic, shows that when two do (almost) the same thing, it is not always the same.
