Pseudokarst caves and formations in the Zábrdka stream valley (central and northern Bohemia, Czech Republic)

Abstract

The paper describes four interesting pseudokarst caves in the Zábrdka stream valley (central and northern Bohemia, Czech Republic). Most of them have not yet been described in scientific literature.

The studied area is formed by Mesozoic sediments and Tertiary neovolcanites. Most of the described rock formations have evolved in soft calcareous sandstones of the Turonian Age.

The paper focuses on relief mesoforms (pseudokarst caves). The paper also describes some other interesting geomorphological shapes in this area (rock gates, rock windows, ichnofossils, honeycomb rocks).
