Abstract
Presentation during a conference for Ph.D. students in Třešť where each student presented his concept of thesis and the professors reacted. The popularity of French boulevard comedy in the Czech environment is evidenced by the fact that it is presented on Czech theatre stages.
But how is it perceived in comparison with the reception in its country of origin? The presentation will summarize the results of a foreign internship during which the PhD student investigated the approach to the genre boulevard comedy, but also to the translation of the drama. It is based on a study of the literature, as well as interviews with SACD staff, theatre professionals and translators, and finally from the results of questionnaires (in Czech and French) submitted to persons associated with theatre professionals.
