The study follows the spiritual traditions of two famous pilgrimage sites which had made it into Bohuslav Balbín's historiographic writings on the cult of Virgin Mary. Attention is paid to visual representations of miracles which incorporate biblical themes as well as local legends of the sites' origins, or to imagery of Blessed Virgin's grace and its eff ect on the life of the populace.
