Abstract

In September 2022, the Czech Republic will hold the ninth national election for municipal councils. Since the first ones in 1990, almost all the legislative parameters of the relevant electoral law have changed.

There was a change in the method of converting votes to mandates, the limit for moving candidates on the candidate list, the amount of the entry clause, but also the conditions of candidacy, as a result of which the structure of candidates and candidate entities also gradually changed. The conditions for holding special elections have also changed.

The contribution will present all the above-mentioned changes in laws, as well as the data bases for changes in the structure of candidates and candidate entities.
