Spherically symmetric geometries provide substantial and straightforward insight into the properties of any gravity theory. This holds especially for the strong-field regime, where additional corrections to the Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian should become significant.

Here, we are concerned with generic 4dimensional quadratic gravity with squares of the Weyl tensor and the Ricci scalar included in the classic GR action. Then, spherical spacetimes with constant Ricci scalar are investigated.

Employing the Eddington-Finkelstein coordinates and the power series form of the metric functions, we find all admitted classes of solutions, identify the important black-hole geometry, and investigate its physical properties. In particular, we interpret the integration and coupling constants and study the asymptotic behaviour and weak-field limit of such a solution.
