Abstract
The aim of the presentation is "finding a sword" in military drill books of the 17th century. The assumption that the search would be successful was based on the fact that in contemporary military practice, cold sidearms (i.e. swords, fangs, rapiers, etc.) were used as secondary weapons, therefore drill books should contain information on how to use these weapons.
