Some Reflections on Media Research With Children

Publication at Faculty of Social Sciences |
2022

Abstract

Children's media use, has become an increasingly important focus for researchers over the past decade or so. There has been a shift away from seeing them as merely recipients of media texts and technologies, to acknowledging their subjective media experiences and agency.

In other words, academic research is now fully invested in seeking to understand the complex dynamic relationships between children and the media. This, of course, is often inevitably bound up with literacy practices, learning and pedagogy.
