Abstract

The lords of Říčany were a noble family whose rise was made possible thanks to the brothers Ondřej, Diviš and Slávek of Všechromy, who held important positions at the court of Ottokar II. Diviš's descendants adopted the predicate "of Říčany" as a result of the new family seat and continued to be close to the Bohemian rulers: e.g., Oldřich of Říčany, Diviš of Říčany and Jimram of Říčany, to name just a few. In the generations that followed, the main family seat in Říčany was lost. At the same time, the family became impoverished due to a number of male family members and the division of estates. In the pre-Hussite period, the lords of Říčany owned extensive estates in Central Bohemia (Říčany, Průhonice, Červený Hrádek near Sedlčany), Eastern Bohemia (Ledeč),

Southern Bohemia (Cehnice) and also began to penetrate to other regions (Western and Northern Bohemia, Moravia).
