Archaeological research northeast of Rumanová village brought new evidence about the perished village Tomáň. Based on the analysis of the material, we date the investigated residential buildings to the beginning of the 15th century.

A largest residential building and its household facilities (storage pit, waste pit, furnace, smaller structures) were identified. Discovered artefacts and the size of the housepoint to a higher social status of its inhabitants.

Among the small items, an iron key, belt buckles and a spur fragment appear. The pot dominated the kitchen, but larger bowls and jugs with lids also appear.

Large clay containers were used to store food supplies. The assortment of animals, obtained on the basis of archaeozoological analysis, includes species typical of high medieval village settlements.

The so far researched files from the 13th to the 16th century in SW Slovakia point to a low share of game and the popularity of beef and pork in the diet of the rural population. A higher proportion of game and fish was recorded only in the defunct (fishing?) settlement of Helemba on the territory of the present-day village of Chľaba on the Danube.
