Abstrakt
Literatures, like people, move around the world. Just as foreign peoples contributed to the building of great civilizations, foreign cultures contribute to the formation of national cultural landscapes.
The translation of Jorge Amado's work into Czech represents a case of the exceptionally strong presence of Brazilian literature in the Czechoslovak cultural context. Interest in this intercultural movement is also aroused by the fact that the author moved to Czechoslovakia along with his literature.
The presentation of the reception of the writer's work will be based on the analysis of periodicals published in Czech.
