The paper presented the new PorTex standardized test battery, which maps the literacy skills of pupils in the 1st grade of elementary school. It is based on a simple model of reading and is focused on language prerequisites for reading (phonology test, test of language awareness - morphosyntactic skills), reading performance (reading words, reading pseudowords) and comprehension.
The battery makes it possible to further monitor the self-assessment of pupils' reading and environmental influences of developing literacy (questionnaire for parents, questionnaire for teachers). It is therefore a complex stimulus for the assessment of reading literacy in pupils of the 1st grade of elementary schools, with use in the diagnosis of reading difficulties of any nature or reading performance in pupils from different risk groups of readers.
It is suitable for use in school counseling workplaces and school counseling facilities, especially pedagogical and psychological counseling centers for the diagnosis of reading difficulties.
