Thyroid carcinomas, the most common endocrinological tumors, represent 1-2% of all malignant tumors. In the last 30 years, there has been a significant increase in their incidence.
These cancers represent the malignancies with the fastest growing number of new cases worldwide. They are the fifth most common cancer in women.
Nevertheless, due to its occurrence, it belongs to rare diseases, the successful treatment of which requires the cooperation of several specialties. The aim of this monograph is to provide an overview of current diagnostic and therapeutic approaches - surgery, pathology, molecular genetics, nuclear medicine methods and systemic therapy of advanced disease, preparations of targeted antitumor treatment.
