Abstract
Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is a relatively common mesenchymal tumor of the gastrointestinal tract and is chemo- and radioresistant. It is characterized by the frequent presence of tyrosine kinase receptors - ckit receptor (CD117) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR).
