In 2013, the ČENDA longitudinal register of childhood diabetes was established, which in the following years became an important source of information on the course, compensation, therapy and complications of diabetes in children and adolescents. In addition to epidemiological data on the increasing number of children with type 1 diabetes, this registry shows a clear trend in reducing HbA1c at the population level, while it is highly likely that the very establishment of this registry contributes to this positive development with its educational roles.
The registry thus becomes an important part of the clinical care of children with all types of diabetes.
